If there’s anything you should know about me, it’s that one of my favorite weekend getaways is to rent a cozy cabin in the woods and to retreat there for a couple days in order to escape the bustle of city life. That being said, I always have to return home once the weekend is over. What if, however, the cabin was your permanent home?
In the following photos, you’ll be following a man’s project of rebuilding an 1830s style log cabin. If you’re a fan of DIY projects, you’ll appreciate the fact that this man rebuilt this cabin all by himself…

The man first had to move all the logs from the cabin’s original location. He had to label each log to remember the position. Some of the logs were too rotten to reuse and he had to find replacement logs instead.

The man started by rebuilding the foundation.

Because each log had to be at the exact original position, it was almost like solving a complicated (and heavy!) puzzle.

Look at the cabin starting to come together!

It was now time to work on the inside…

First things first, the fireplace. It’s essential that the fireplace works in order to stay warm during the cold winter months.

Just look at how beautiful the natural light coming into the cabin is!

All I can say is wow.

It’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a cabin. It looks so cozy!

I wouldn’t mind staying in this cabin for a long extended getaway!
